A transgender man felt discriminated against by a hospital. The trans man contacted us and after our usual adversarial procedure, we did not come to an agreement with the hospital. From the very good and fine pro-bono partnership we have with the Allen&Overy law firm, we have David of Boven and Marik Pannekoek, we petitioned the Human Rights Board on behalf of the transman to assess whether prohibited discrimination had been made on the grounds of sex (gender identity). The Board ruled in our favor. Client calls the ruling "historic." The hospital announces that it is in discussion about this "in order to learn from it and to improve." David and Marik: "This collaboration provides an opportunity to raise important social issues."
