Through the foundation she gets assigned another housing unit. At the visitation a neighbour yells that he does not want black people to move in there. Eventually she gets assigned another house because it would not be safe to place families on the first street. The client finds that she has been discriminated against because the neighbour ensured she did not get the initial house.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Het Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam ondersteunt en helpt op de achtergrond\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>Stimulating the self-reliance of clients through coaching is sometimes a sufficient solution and oftentimes a great first step. In this way the Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam can draft a letter on behalf of the client or guide the client in entering dialogue. For conflicts that are still in an early stage, this accessible approach is often very successful.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><i>Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam<\/i> files a complaint on behalf of the victim<\/b><\/h4>\n\n<p>In this case, the internal complaints procedure of the foundation was used. A police report of discrimination was also filed against the neighbour. The Meldpunt Discrimination Regio Amsterdam follows up by initiating a mediation meeting. The management of the foundation apologises and offers the client a different housing unit. The management also reforms the internal complaints procedure and sets up a code of conduct for employees.
