New board members Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam

As of December 11, José Komen and Carina van Eck are part of the supervisory board of the Meldpunt Discriminatie. In June of this year, Denise Eikelenboom already joined the board. Board chair Jacobien Vreekamp: "I am very pleased with everyone's individual knowledge and expertise and the reinforcement these three board members will bring to the organization."

Among other things, José Komen was founder and for many years business director of the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research, affiliated with the UvA. She is also a board member of Dress for Success. Carina van Eck, after previous positions at the Ministry of Justice, the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and the UNHCR, was active in recent years as a member of the Human Rights Board. She is currently a deputy judge for the criminal law sector at the Amsterdam District Court.

Eikelenboom is an entrepreneur in aviation. She began her career in the Royal Navy where she was the first ever female helicopter pilot. Since Sept. 1, she has taken over the role of treasurer from Vincent Verkoelen who is currently serving as director.

The board also includes Marc Schuilenburg, a publicist and criminologist at VU University Amsterdam, and Mitchell Esajas, founder of The Black Archives.
